1. Purpose and scope of the document
1.1. The Minor Protection Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") defines the principles of ensuring the safety of minors staying in facilities managed by Good Time Apartments, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Minors of August 15, 2024.
1.2. The policy applies to all employees, collaborators, subcontractors, cleaning and technical staff, and other persons performing activities for Good Time Apartments.
1.3. The Policy applies to all Apartments managed by Good Time Apartments, regardless of their location.
2. Definitions
2.1. Minor – a person who is under 18 years of age.
2.2. Staff – all persons performing activities on behalf of the Operator.
2.3. Legal guardian – a person exercising parental authority or care over a minor.
2.4. Threat to the safety of a minor – any situation that may indicate violence, neglect, sexual abuse, leaving a child unattended or other risk of violation of his or her well-being.
3. General principles of protection of minors
3.1. Good Time Apartments provide safe conditions for the stay of minors in the Apartments.
3.2. Staff are obliged to respond to any situations that may indicate a threat to the safety of a minor.
3.3. All actions taken towards minors must respect their dignity, privacy and well-being.
3.4. The Apartments have a zero tolerance policy for violence against minors.
4. Rules for staff contact with minors
4.1. Staff shall not establish direct relationships with minors outside the scope of their duties.
4.2. Staff shall not remain alone with a minor in a closed room.
4.3. Staff shall not touch minors in any way that goes beyond necessary professional duties (e.g. medical assistance).
4.4. Staff do not take photographs or recordings of minors.
4.5. Staff do not engage in private communication with minors (telephone, instant messaging, social media).
5. Safety rules in the buildings where the Apartments are located
5.1. Buildings are equipped with safety instructions, evacuation signs and emergency numbers.
5.2. Minors may not remain unattended in places that may pose a threat (balconies, stairwells, parking lots, technical areas).
5.3. Staff are obliged to report any situation in which a minor appears to be left unattended.
5.4. In the event of a threat to the health or life of a minor, staff shall call the appropriate services.
6. Principles of image and data protection for minors
6.1. It is prohibited to publish photos or recordings of minors without the consent of their legal guardian.
6.2. It is prohibited to disclose personal data of minors to unauthorized persons.
6.3. Documents containing data of minors are stored in accordance with the principles of the GDPR.
7. Prohibited behavior
In the Apartments it is prohibited to: use violence against minors, leave minors unattended in a way that threatens their safety, engage in sexual or sexually suggestive contact, comment on the appearance of minors in an inappropriate manner, offer minors alcohol, cigarettes, psychoactive substances, photograph or record minors without the consent of their guardian, enter the premises of a minor without a justified official need.
8. Procedure for responding to threats to the safety of minors
If there is a suspicion that a minor may be a victim of violence, neglect or other threat:
8.1. Staff are obligated to: Remain calm and refrain from taking actions that could worsen the situation. Immediately report the situation to the person responsible for safety. In the event of an immediate threat to life or health, call the emergency services (112).
8.2. The person responsible for safety: Analyzes the report. Documents the situation. If necessary, notifies the appropriate authorities: the Police, Social Welfare Center, Family Court. Informs the Operator of any actions taken.
9. Persons responsible for the safety of minors: President of the Management Board, Vice-President of the Management Board, Reception Manager
10. Personnel verification rules
10.1. Good Time Apartments may require from staff: a declaration of no criminal record, a declaration of no prohibition on working with minors, and additional documents, if required by law.
10.2. Good Time Apartments does not employ individuals for whom there are grounds to believe they pose a risk to the safety of minors.
11. Training
11.1. Staff are familiar with the Policy before commencing work.
11.2. Good Time Apartments provide periodic training in the protection of minors.
12. Final provisions
12.1. The Policy comes into effect on the date of its signing.
12.2. The Policy is available to employees, associates and guests.
12.3. Good Time Apartments reviews the Policy at least once a year.
12.4. In matters not regulated herein, the provisions of Polish law shall apply.
