Toy Museum

The Toy Museum was established in 1995 by Henryk Tomaszewski, founder of the Wrocław Pantomime Theatre.

The toys displayed in the display cases were designed and hand-painted by Kazimierz Wiśniak, a renowned Krakow set designer and the creator of many Tomaszewski productions. Each shelf in the display case is painted, creating a fairytale setting in which the puppets live and act out scenes from "From Real Life." For example, we can see the living room with plush armchairs, a piano, a kitchen filled with pots and plates, and a bathroom with a porcelain bathtub with taps, soap, and towels.

We observe a nanny sitting on a bench, a baby in a stroller, even laundry hanging to dry in the garden, attached with tiny wooden clothespins. There are Japanese travelers and the imperial couple. There's something for everyone.
