Suggestions for bicycle trips

ROUTE 1 We set off from the city center, heading towards Kopernika Street and passing the Museum of Sports and Tourism. Then, turn right onto Obrońców Pokoju Street. This is a paved road towards Osiedle Skalne and Wilcza Poręba. Behind the Relaks hotel, turn right onto Wilcza Street and follow it until the paved road ends. From here, we follow the green hiking trail towards Budniki and then (a forest road with gravel) to the Okraj Pass. After conquering the pass (1,046 m above sea level), it is possible to cross the national border. However, if you want to continue on the route, take the paved road to the parking lot at Rozdroże pod Sulicą. After a short rest, following the yellow trail, we head towards Przełęcz Kowarska, from where we descend on the paved road towards Kowary and then Krzaczyny (a district of Kowary). After crossing the railway crossing, turn left and, upon reaching the green signs, head towards Karpacz (Skalne estate) and then on to the city center. The route is approximately 25 km long.

ROUTE 2 After setting off from the city center, we take the asphalt road towards Wilcza Poręba. After finding the green trail and riding it for about 200 meters, we enter the forest. Continuing to follow the green trail markers, we head towards Budniki. Along the way, it's worth taking note of the beautiful views of the Jelenia Góra Valley. In Budniki, we meet the yellow trail, which we take down towards Kowary – Krzaczyna (here, you'll need to bring your bike down for 300 meters due to the difficulty of the trail). After reaching the Jedlinki forester's lodge, we turn left to follow the green trail again, reaching Karpacz – Osiedle Skalne, and then the city center. The route is approximately 15 km long.

ROUTE 3 From the city center, turn onto Kościelna Street and then onto Poznańska Street. After reaching Myśliwska Street (green trail), turn left again. When you reach a trail intersection, choose the red trail, which will take you to the Śródleśna Glade. There, turn right towards Grabowiec (784 m above sea level) – a magnificent viewpoint of the Karkonosze Mountains and the Jelenia Góra Valley. Returning to the Glade, we head towards St. Anne's Chapel. Past the chapel, we head towards the village of Miłków, which we cross to reach the road leading through fields and meadows from Karpacz to Jelenia Góra. After crossing the bridge over the Łomnica River, we take the asphalt road towards Ściegien and continue to the Skalne housing estate. Then, along Obrońców Pokoju Street, we head towards the center of Karpacz. The route is approximately 15 km long.

ROUTE 4 We start from the Bachus guesthouse (the old Sądowa inn). Here, we descend onto Kościelna and Nadrzeczna streets (past new apartment buildings) to Kolejowa Street (a left turn). We continue to the end, then turn right. We now follow the gravel road to the village of Miłków (the slopes of Strzelec Mountain). In Miłków, before the stud farm and the historic palace complex, we turn left. Through the fields, we reach the road connecting the villages of Miłków and Sosnówka – heading towards Sosnówka. After about 300 meters, we reach the village of Głębock, where we meet the red trail (a right turn). We follow this trail to Mysłakowice, passing stylish Tyrolean houses along the way. After reaching the church and palace, we drive through a historic park towards the Mysłakowice railway station, from where we head towards the ZPL "Orzeł" (Eagle Plant) (one of the oldest linen factories). After passing them, we head towards Karpacz. The route is approximately 22 km long.

ROUTE 5 From the church in the town center, take the asphalt road right towards Wilcza Poręba, from where, following the yellow trail signs, we head to the concrete bridge over Łomniczka River. After the recreation area, turn right onto an unmarked road, which will take you to the "Irena" holiday camp, where we turn left. Now, following the forest path, we reach the "Orlinek" ski jump and the "Orlinek" mountain hotel. Behind the hotel, turn left onto the red trail, which will take us to the shelter on Łomniczka River. Return along the same route to the hotel. Continue towards Karpacz Górny. When you reach the main road, turn right. Continue for about 300 meters, then turn left this time onto Strażacka Street, which will take you to Myśliwska Street (green trail). We descend to Poznańska Street and then onto Kościelna Street, past the old Court Inn (now the Bachus Holiday Home), leads to the city center. The route is approximately 17 km long.

ROUTE 6 The route begins in the city center near the "Bachus" recreation center. Head onto M. Kopernika Street and pass the Museum of Sports and Tourism. Then turn right towards Wilcza Poręba. After reaching the intersection of the yellow and green trails, continue along these trails. You reach the edge of the forest (the end of the asphalt) and exit onto a forest road, from which you turn onto the green trail. Now, reaching another intersection, take the black trail and head towards the Sowia Valley (this is the most difficult section of our trip). After reaching a shelter, turn left. Continue along a horizontal path, which leads to the green trail, which you then take down to the black trail. Passing Krucze Skały, you reach Obrońców Pokoju Street, which you then take to the city center. The route is approximately 10 km long.
